Eisenberg

A small, post-industrial town in the Rhineland-Palatinate region of Germany, Eisenberg is located in a wooded area, close to the German Wine Route.

During our stays here we have visited many of the interesting towns nearby, taken a trip on the Rhine, visited the nearby shoe museum and the Benz museum in Ladenburg, tasted local wines and been given a tour of one of the top German football clubs (Kaiserslautern).

In 2013 we joined them for the 1,250 year Jubilee celebrations. There was a carnival parade, where we had a "Baldock" float and festival dinner for all local associations.

In 2014 they visited Baldock once more. The programme included a trip to Hampton Court Palace, followed by a river boat cruise down the Thames to Kew. The Ceebration dinner was held at The Cloisters, an historic building in Letchworth.

In 2015 the day out included a trip to the Neckar Valley with a visit to the Burg (Castle) Guttenberg before going on to Neckarsteinach, from where we took a 90-minute boat trip on the Neckar River to Heidelberg.

There have been many happy occasions,

when we have shared their lives, countryside, cuisine and drink!

Friendships formed have been long-lasting, leading to many exchanges outside town twinning.
